*If you're on Facebook, please join our group there. This Meet-up was created as another outlet to find members.*
The inspiration to start this group was spurred by several conversations with friends. It became apparent that there is a longing for community among the *older* young adults in and around Nashville. For with age comes a new set of growing pains, which deserves to be acknowledged too. A main issue being, as noted by a popular New York Times’ article, it is hard to make friends after 30…
And as Catholics, we are in great need of deep and meaningful bonds. We need the encouragement, the guidance, the accountability, and especially…the PRAYERS! Therefore, there is hope that this group will draw out the “mature” young adults to plant seeds and foster friendships in Christ.
To start, we’ll probably have some social gatherings at local restaurants. And in time, perhaps we’ll have a book club, participate in a community service project, etc.? Feel free to offer your thoughts and suggestions too. :-)
“The friendship which draws human beings together in a tender bond is sweet to us because out of many minds it forges a unity.” ~St. Augustine from Confessions
