What we're about

Welcome to the Middlesex Personal Development Meetup. Our purpose is to promote self awareness and personal development, with the aim of helping you to enrich your life. We do this through a number of means including events, groups and workshops.

It is hoped that by sharing our experiences and the wisdom we have gained along the way that we may enrich our own lives and those of others. It is my belief that such knowledge can lead only to us becoming more aware of our own patterns, stories and behaviours and that this, in turn, gives us choice. Once we realise that we have choice we then become empowered to create ourselves and our worlds the way we would like them to be.

Most events are open to everyone. No previous knowledge or experience is required. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to explore.

Free one hour Monday meditation online - Please email me for Zoom link

We are a small group that meet every Monday for a one hour meditation session. We are keen to increase our numbers and would love it if you would join us. Please email me for the Zoom link: [masked]. Setting time aside to meditate every day has proven health benefits. In fact the Harvard Medical School has been a pioneer in scientifically studying the benefits and healing impact of meditation. Here are some of their findings: 1 Relaxation – meditation can take you to an even more relaxed state than deep sleep – allowing your body to de-stress, heal and regenerate 2 Less anxiety, better control of emotions – the more you meditate, the less reactive you become to life and the more balanced and calm you feel 3 Lower blood pressure – as meditation promotes relaxation, stress levels fall and the activity of the adrenal glands is reduced, leading to a fall in blood pressure caused by stress 4 A fall in blood cholesterol levels – when there are excess amounts of cholesterol in the body, it’s often a sign of stress creating too much cortisol that damages cells. When these cells get damaged cholesterol is produced to patch them up. Regular meditation helps reduce stress and your body produces less cortisol and thus less cholesterol. 5 Better sleep patterns – meditation increases blood circulation, helps muscles to relax and reduces stress, which in turn prevents the adrenal glands from working overtime. With less adrenaline and other hormones to keep you awake, allowing you to fall into a deeper sleep. Studies have also shown that meditation increases melatonin in the body due to the brainwave frequencies it creates. Melatonin is known for improved memory, immune system and restful sleep. For more please visit: www.qtm-andfly.co.uk In our fast paced world, a regular meditation practice can help you remain centred and calm, whatever is going on around you. If you’ve never tried it before, or if you simply wish to join others in a regular meditation practice, you’re welcome to join our small group on Monday nights. For more information call me on[masked] or email [masked] for full details and to secure your place. This is an online event via Zoom. If you contact me, I will send you the link.
