Early Spring Overnight Backpacking Trip in Brown County

Hey everyone! For this trip, we are going to hike the Peninsula Trail in the Charles C. Deam Wilderness, which is located on the south side of Monroe Lake just about 20 minutes outside of Bloomington, IN.

This will be about 10 miles round trip (5 in, 5 out) with about 800 ft of elevation gain. Expect some light cross country towards the end of the trail to find the ideal camp spot. Here's a link for more info: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/indiana/peninsula-trail--3

The plan would be for us to either meet in Indy at around 8 AM or at the trailhead at around 10 AM on Saturday, 3/23. We will hike in, setup camp, explore the area a little, get to know each other, make some awesome camp gourmet, sit by the fire, tell camp/backpacking stories, then hike back out in the morning.

As of today (3/14/19), they are calling for a high of 63, low of 44, and 0% chance of rain! Excellent!!! Doesn't get much easier than that! I'm challenging myself to go ultra lite on this one by using only a 25L pack.
