What we're about

This is a group for couples wanting to play Euchre, maybe have a couple drinks, have a little fun. Depending on interest, maybe rotate playing at each others homes or possibly a local tavern. We can all figure that out when we get together the first time at a local tavern. We are in our mid fifties, listen to all types of music, and can get a little rowdy occasionally.

EUCHRE TOURNAMENT STYLE

***ALL monies collected for entrance fees and Euchre fines are awarded back to the players***

$5 entrance fee plus $0.25 euchre fine for reneging. All entrance fees and euchre fines are combined to make up prize money for winners, and the biggest loser. ; )

We’ll play six rounds each evening. Each round ends when one team scores 10 points or after 20 minutes maximum time. Teams are changed up after each round. We’ll have a chart planned to follow.

We play standard Euchre including "Stick the Dealer", and “Ace no Face”. “Ace no Face” must be called before Trump is called.

Loner basket - Each time a Euchre Player goes alone (a loner), they put $1 in the loner basket. If they make the loner, they take possession of the loner basket. Whoever has possession of the loner basket at the end of the evening keeps the loner basket contents! You don't have to pay $1 when going alone, but you cannot take possession of the loner basket unless you pay throughout the entire evening for each loner attempted at the time the loner was called. Please be sure when you call a Loner and pay your $1, your name gets on the Bucket List! You must take ALL five tricks to gain possession of the Loner Bucket!

A card laid is a card played! Once you take your fingers/hand off the card, you've played the card and cannot then pick the card back up into your hand and replace it with a correct suit or a correct trump. If you play the wrong suit, a renege will be called and 2 points will be awarded to the opposing team and you are fined .25 cents. You may play a card and keep your hand/finger(s) on the card till you are sure that's the card you wish to play.

Scoring is individual; each player on the team who scored 10 points has 10 points added to their individual overall total for the evening. Each player will keep track of their own score with score sheets provided. Your opponent must initial your score on your sheet.

All RSVP's will have first opportunity to play. Please understand, the last few to RSVP may not have a chance to play, we need tables of 4. If you do not RSVP and decide to join us, please understand you may not have a chance to play, we need tables of 4. If your looking at the RSVP totals, please keep in mind either Mike and/or I need to run the game., we are on the RSVP list and should not be counted.
