MKAI hosts online events to help everyone from all walks of life to increase their ‘AI fluency’.

MKAI is a responsible AI community that engages in open-minded conversation and crowdsourced projects regarding important artificial intelligence themes including; ethics, inclusivity, privacy and sustainability. We attract people from different walks of life, with different experiences. Our diversity is our strength. We don’t focus on being ‘right’. Instead, we seek to learn, listen and explore. Compassion and kindness are the glue that bonds us together.AI needs all of us, and all of us need AI.

We were founded in 2019 as a place for AI enthusiasts in Milton Keynes to connect. To adapt to COVID-19, we grew wings and embraced a new global community. Whilst our events, members and projects are now truly global, we are proud of our heritage, our name and the work we do to support the city that launched us.

Responsible AI Event Series- Part 2: Rethinking Data Monetization

𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲: A significant percentage of AI projects are still failing to return value or to scale and whilst new technologies offer more and more convenience to consumers, the spotlight is on the way that data is being collected and processed. Tolerance is decreasing for technology companies that aren’t actively showing how they will improve privacy and security and reduce biases.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲: At the May Forum, we seek to explore how fresh thinking and new approaches to data monetisation. What will it take to radically change the way that businesses collect, store, share, sell and process data? We wish to discuss whether the technology market is taking into account the harm associated with current data monetisation methods, whether we would consider these methods ethical and whether an update to digital human rights is needed. Finally, we seek to know how and when these methods will change.

𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗜: As always the MKAI Forums are open to everyone from all walks of life. Our expert speakers make the subject approachable and comprehensible to help all of us improve our AI-fluency and understanding of the domain.

Speaker 1: Gema Martín, Director at metaverse42.com

Gema is a scientist, inventor and digital artist. She specialises in technology, precisely in ‘tecnoetics’. Her domain is mental health and technology.

Gema leads scientific research focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, algorithms and automation (intelligent control) with a focus in creativity, mental health & applied ethics in the field of human-computer-interaction.


Speaker 2: Jack Nikogosian, CEO at ARYZE

Jack Nikogosian is an award-winning Danish blockchain expert with a vast knowledge of the cryptocurrency space and regularly features in publications. In 2015 he became internationally known as Bitcoin Jack after paying solely with Bitcoin for an entire month. With his outgoing personality and quick thinking, he delivers an inspiring stage presence and has displayed his capabilities at numerous expos and conferences. With a vision of making payments faster, cheaper and smarter he founded the fintech company ARYZE in 2017 which has won multiple awards. Jack has also been featured as one of the top 100 talents in Denmark in 2019 and on Forbes 30 under 30 in 2020.

Debbie Reynolds, “The Data Diva,” is a world-renowned technologist, thought-leader, and advisor to Multinational Corporations for handling global data privacy, an internationally published author, highly sought speaker, and top media presence about global data privacy, data protection topics.

This MKAI Inclusive AI Forum Series discusses the big themes around Responsible AI. The June event examines what to expect from AI in 2030

June Forum Objectives: At the MKAI Inclusive AI forum in June, we seek to discover how different thought leaders and experts think about AI at the end of this decade. We ask our speakers to share with us their views on how the industry will progress and change. Answering questions such as; What will legislation look like in 2030? Will AI be fairer and more equitable, or will the true power of AI be in the hands of the few? Will the same technology companies be leading, or will this decade shake them up? Will Data and AI be decentralised by 2030, what will be the role of blockchain? Will users own their own data?

CEO of Intelligent Story and Professor of AI Strategy & Responsible AI Design

A polymath by trade, Dr. Valérie Morignat is the CEO of Intelligent Story and Associate Professor of AI Strategy and Ethical AI Design at aivancity. She is a global AI expert and interactive design leader with cross-functional experience in business, government, and academia. She holds a Ph.D. from the Sorbonne University, two certifications from MIT in AI Strategy and Machine Learning, and is certified by IDF in VR/AR design.

𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗶
Regional Head of Data AI IoT and Industry Solutions – Western Europe HQ at Microsoft

Roberto Andreoli is the Regional Head of Data AI IoT and Industry Solutions at Microsoft, covering 14 countries in the Western Europe area. 20+ years of experience in the IT/Software industry with different roles both at international and local level. Since 2005 he is working for Microsoft where he had the pleasure to lead businesses in different areas like consulting, product management, evangelism, and sales.

Prior to Microsoft, he worked for SAP as CRM pre-sales lead and he spent one year in the Walldorf SAP HQ development team. He started in a small local Italian system integrator called Cedati, now part of the Altran Group. 43 years old, proud father of four fantastic children (Riccardo, Pietro, Emma, Michele), passionate about innovation, data culture, oriental culture and disciplines, ultra-desert runner, piano student, and Harley-Davidson lover.

Tech Policy Lead at PIT Policy Lab

Aranza Garcia is the Tech Policy Lead at PIT Policy Lab. She is a public-interest technologist with experience in diplomacy, government affairs, and public-private partnerships. Aranza advocates for inclusive AI systems, and is committed to use technology to achieve gender equality and build safer communities.
