How to find us

From "Delaware Drive", access to VWFS is behind an automatic barrier - buzz the reception and tell them you are there for "MK.NET". The entrance is on the south-facing side of the building. There is visitor parking near the entrance.

MK .NET is proud to be hosting an awesome one-day "Unconference".

The venue is generously provided by VWFS at their spacious offices, located in the north of Milton Keynes. Twilio will be providing some grub.

If your company is interested in sponsoring, please reach out to Layla or Shahid. Our group is not commercial, so we are always grateful for support for our developer-community. This could be simple, practical sponsorship such as snacks, or perhaps travel assistance for underprivileged members.

What's an "UnConference"?

An unconference is a free-form user group, where we decide as a group, which talks (both full-length and lightning) we would like to listen to. This will be chosen from a selection of talk submitted by members and visiting guests, whether in advance or on the day.

We can also spontaneously organise workshops - so if there is something you would like to learn, you can spend time side-by-side with people who know about a subject!

We have a large amount of space to work with, including the main auditorium and a number of smaller meeting rooms. The venue is fully accessible.

Code of Conduct

MK.NET is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for our event attendees.

Please observe our group's code of conduct, which you can read in full here:

If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour at our events, we provide an automated system to report and log problems. Please send a TXT message to[masked]. This will not add your number to a mailing list. The log is visible only to MK.NET organisers.

What's the plan?

Please aim to arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 on Sat 9th Nov. We'll provide a danish pastry and coffee. We're not planning to provide an extensive breakfast selection, so if this doesn't sound like it suits you, please arrange your own breakfast beforehand.

We'll make a start to the day with the opening "ceremony" at 9:00 - sharpish.

Between 9:15 and 10:00 we'll plan the rest of the day, as a group.

In true unconference style, we'll arrange a precise time for lunch, on the day. A basic lunch of sandwiches (meaty, veggie, vegan & GF) and soft drinks will be provided.

We'll aim to finish the day at around 17:00

How do I get to present a talk?

We'll welcome anyone the opportunity to present a talk (as long as it's loosely related to development - e.g. it could be a "soft talk" such a "better team communication" etc).

It's a perfect *supportive* environment for first-time speakers or those who feel uncomfortable talking in front of people.

Please submit your talk at this link:-
