MK Recreational & Team sports is a social sports club that aims to make the enjoyment of sport accessible to all, to prioritise fun ahead of competition and to facilitate new friendships through sport.
*The charge goes towards the various costs incurred by the organisers (including long term booking of the court, upkeep of racquets and shuttles, leisure centre membership fees).
Come and try korfball! First two weeks free for newcomers so you can try it out. We are going outdoors for the summer.
So what exactly is Korfball I hear you ask? It’s one of the only mixed sex sports around, with teams consisting of four men and four women. It’s a mixture of netball and basketball moves, with the aim of the game being to shoot and score – making for a great sport full of fun! The word Korf comes from the Dutch translation for ‘basket’ & its roots are in the Netherlands where the game originates from.
Join us for our outdoor season, all welcome whether you are interested playing all year round or just in the summer, and learn the game before our workplace tournament and social summer league which are coming up in June!
We also often go for a drink afterwards too in the rugby club bar!
Trainers are generally fine unless the grass is particularly slippy due to earlier rain, although if you have moulded studs or astroturf shoes it's worth bringing them too. If it's raining, do check whether or not the session is on.
