What we're about

Meet other Milwaukee dads -- stay-at-home dads, working dads, all active and engaged fathers from in and around the Milwaukee metro area -- to socialize and interact with other guys who enjoy spending quality time with their kids.

Our primary goal is to form an inclusive and active community of dads so we can do activities together and take advantage of the amazing resources that Milwaukee has to offer. Organized meetup events are planned at local parks, playgrounds, museums, play gyms, zoos, and pretty much any other place that will welcome us.

Milwaukee Dads Group is part of the City Dads Group, a nationwide community of fathers dedicated to being active in our children’s lives and, by example, redefining what it means to be a dad in the 21st century. We have groups centered around major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. Learn more at www.citydadsgroup.com ( https://citydadsgroup.com/ ).

Please note this group is strictly for Dads and dads-to-be. We want this group to be a comfortable place for Dads to learn and talk about anything parent related.

Picnic and Hike at Wehr Nature Center

Needs a location

Let's have a picnic and hike at Whitnall Park. We'll meet at the Wehr Nature Center and sit on the deck to eat. When we're done eating, we'll take a hike. We can do as short as a 0.5 mile hike or as long as 1.5 or more miles. There's even a trail that will work for strollers. There is a $4 fee to park at the nature center. If you're ambitious, you can avoid this fee by parking on the corner of College Ave. and Whitnall Park Dr. and do some extra hiking to the nature center.

Playgroup at Kayla’s playground

Needs a location

Let's meet at Kayla's Playground in Franklin and let the kids burn some energy.

Bikes and Brews

Location visible to members

Let's try this again and meet at the Warnimont Park Dog parking lot and then bike to South Shore Terrace for lunch and beverages. It's a pretty easy ride of about 5 miles each way with a few moderate hills and completely on the Oak Leaf Trail. Going at a leisurely pace, it's about a 30 minute ride to South Shore Terrace. There is a playground if you want to bring the kids, but a couple of the hills may be a bit much for young riders. If you don't bike, but want to join us at South Shore Terrace, you're welcome to do that as well.

Dads Night Out at The Bavarian Bierhaus

Needs a location

Let's hit The Bavarian Bierhaus for July's Dads Night Out. We can enjoy conversation, food, soda, cocktails and of course, beer. If the weather is nice they have a giant outdoor space for us to enjoy. Try and RSVP by July 15 so I can make a reservation.
