Mindful Astoria: Wednesday Online Meditation Gathering

During this time of physical distancing, we can still join together as a community online to practice meditation and cultivate mindfulness and kindness.

Each gathering will consist of instruction in different forms of mindfulness meditation, and time for group discussion and connecting with the community. Depending on the week, the teacher may give a talk or share a reading.

Gatherings will be led by different members of our teaching team. Read more about our teaching team here: https://mindfulastoria.wordpress.com/teachers/

Check out our group guidelines: https://mindfulastoria.wordpress.com/guidelines/

Email any questions to mindfulastoria@gmail.com.

Looking forward to deepening practice and strengthening mindful community with you all.

RSVP on Meetup for the Zoom link.

If you do not have Zoom already or are not familiar with Zoom:

Please download the free Zoom app on your computer, phone, or tablet. Please be sure your video is enabled. (Computer is strongly recommended if possible).
You will need to be in a space such as a room in your home or office that is private, quiet and where you can meditate. (Not moving around, not on the subway, train, bus, in a car, eating, multitasking, etc).
Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
Headphones are recommended but not required.
When you sign on for class please close all other tabs and programs, and have your phone away/on silent.
Please mute your microphone to reduce background noise. You can unmute your microphone to ask a question.

If you join us for an online program, we ask if you are able to offer financial support (we suggest $5-$10 per event) via the app/website PayPal* to our email address: mindfulastoria@gmail.com. This will enable us to continue offering programs, and to continue to give donations to Astoria First Presbyterian Church--our Wednesday night home--while their space is closed. (No one will ever be turned away due to lack of funds).

*Note, for now we are using PayPal but we may change our method of collecting funds as we adjust to this change. We will update you.
