And as always new comers will be made to feel welcome and have everything explained. Welcome to the weekly Mindfulness Meditation Bedford Meetup. This meetup lasts for an hour and is suitable for beginners just curious about Mindfulness Meditation or old hands wanting to continue, and deepen their practice. This an open, warm and welcoming group with a number of experienced meditation facilitators and practisers on hand. The sessions include a range of practices based the standard Oxford and Bangor Universities Mindfulness for Stress programs, and may include: Controlled breathing meditation Guided breathing meditation Silent breathing meditation Eating meditation (chocolate/raisin/nut) Sharing / Discussion Three step breathing space The cost of the meet-up is met by a recommended small donation (suggested £5 for earners and £3 for non-earners) to contribute to room hire, overheads, etc. Mark Strathern Anna Palutikoff Organisers Please note: Whilst all our facilitators undertake to follow the relevant parts of the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teachers Good practice guidelines. What we're about

Welcome to the Mindfulness Meditation Meetup in Bedford.

This is a mindfulness group for beginners and experienced mindfulness practitioners alike who wants to practice mindfulness regularly in an informal, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

It offers a range of different meetups in the week suited to different experience levels.

The Wednesday evening meetings follow the principals of mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) meditation with emphasis on group practice and support for each other.

Each session last for an hour and follows a similar format

Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation

Guided and Silent Meditation of the breath

Guided Body Scan Meditation

Short discussion and sharing around meditation

Mindful Eating Meditation

Meditation With Sounds / Open Awareness / or other topical practise

This a non-profit making meeting and the only cost will be sharing of the room/hall rental and optional contribution to what is used in the sessions, etc. Suggested donation of £3-£5 per person in employment and £1 for others. More is welcome, less is accepted :-).

This group was founded in March 16th 2012 by Per Norrgren, of inMindSight who facilitated the group's weekly meetings up until 30th of September 2014 at which point the group had some 300 members and had held some 170 meetups. The faciltation of the group has been passed on to Glenis and Mark who continue to organise the sessions and facilitate the practice.
