Mindfulness Meditation Group

Whitewater Congregational UCC

Come together with others for a mindfulness meditation practice intended to help you develop greater awareness, presence, and calm. Meditation in a group setting is richer than meditating alone as we are able to connect with others, learn from each other, and support one another. Just like going to the gym helps us develop the exercise habit, attending a meditation group encourages us to stay consistent and develop the meditation habit. This is a weekly meditation group open to anyone interested in learning to meditate or looking to deepen their practice. No prior experience is needed. Each group we will have a guided practice (which will vary to expose you to different types of mindfulness meditation practices) followed by a short discussion geared toward learning and/or applying mindfulness in everyday life. Group sharing is encouraged but always optional. Nothing special to bring aside from items you might like for your own comfort. There are chairs to sit on but if you'd like to bring a cushion you are welcome to. The exchange for this meeting is only $5. There will be an envelope at the event for your contribution. Lori Frison will be guiding the meditations. She is a mental health therapist in private practice in Whitewater WI at Mindful Psychotherapy Services, LLC. She loves sharing her passion for mindfulness and connecting people of all ages with their innate ability to heal, grow, and thrive. You can find out more about her here https://lorifrison.wordpress.com
