This group is for anyone that is tired of the collection of stuff, debt, and other anchors that have limited their freedom to pursue what really interests them. We meet monthly to share ideas on how to downsize and declutter our lives so that we can uproot ourselves. By uproot, we don't mean moving (though plenty of people do this too). We mean to break the roots that hold us in this endless cycle of work, pay, buy, shop, work. Something has gone terribly wrong. Inspired by Joshua Millburn's and Ryan Nicodemus's book The Minimalist - we take a pragmatic approach to discuss what we can do to remove the anchors and allow freedom in our lives. There are no "musts" in the group. What one person finds to be imperative another might find superfluous. We have minimalists with three homes, and those with no home. We have people that have trashed their TV's and those that have full cable packages. This is not a religion! It is personal inquiry into what matters to you and what is keeping you from a relaxed state of freedom.

"Minimalism is a tool that can assist you in finding freedom. Freedom from fear. Freedom from worry. Freedom from overwhelm. Freedom from guilt. Freedom from depression. Freedom from the trappings of the consumer culture we've built our lives around. Real freedom."
