Ministry of Testing Auckland Attendance Policy / Three strike rule

MoT Auckland events often have waitlists, and it’s unfair when keen members miss out due to ‘no shows’.

For this reason we have a three-strike policy. If a member has more than three ‘no-show’ marks within a calendar year, they will be removed from the group.

You will be marked as a no-show if you don’t update your RSVP by 9am on the day

We understand things do happen, so if you fall ill/have an emergency etc. after 9am, please send a comment to the organisers within a few days of the event and we’ll change your ‘no-show’ status.

API Testing Tips

Fiserv

From a general introduction to the topic, through to advanced concepts and detailed examples, Manil will guide us through the world of API testing. This evening forms part of our 30 days of API testing challenge. You are welcome to join our Slack channel for the challenge at any time here, but you don't have to be doing the challenge to come along and join us for an interesting evening's discussion. (There will be a follow up to tonight presentation - a practical workshop spread over 2 3-hour sessions on Saturday afternoons. See our Meetup channel for details of this.) Thank you to Fiserv for providing the venue for this event. Our Presenter: Manil Kapoor Manil has been testing for 11+ year started from BI / Big Data tester to now being an automation tester with CornerStone OnDemand. Have been working in a microservices environment exposed to different APIs. Using POSTMAN and test automation to test and write APIs for test automation.

API Testing: Hands-On Workshop (6hrs over 2 weekends, Saturday March 9 & 16)

This two-part workshop, led by Vincent & Manil, will provide you with basic skills in Postman and JavaScript to enable you to set up automated testing on a simple API. This will largely be a participant led workshop, we’ll be leveraging the skills in the room to explore what we can learn from each other. All levels of experience are welcome, including beginners to automated API testing. There will be some programming involved but we will try make it simple and easy to follow. A Slack channel will be set up for communication around the workshop and to tell you what you need to have set up on your laptop before you come. Please Note: This is a two-part workshop spread over two weekends & you need to come with your own laptop set up with the software we’ll be using. Our Presenters: Vincent Dirks Vincent has been testing for about six years and has spent time testing APIs for Trade Me as well as for Fiserv (a large financial services company in the USA). He calls himself a full stack agile tester and is happy to test anything from banking APIs, UX on mobile apps, through to pizza and beers at meetups.
