The very first MoT Akl Hackathon

Details
UPDATE: Fiserv requires that everyone who has travelled to China, Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan, or have been in contact with any person who has visited those places in the last 2 weeks, to please stay at home according to Ministry of Health Covid-19 self-quarantine guideline.
This will the the very first kick off event for the MoT Akl workshops and club days.
We will literally start from nothing and do a bit of a hackathon to start the ball rolling.
We’re going to focus on three things
- Some online place to document our work and projects, say like a wiki, github pages, confluence, or similar.
- Identify and procure an online host for setting up an online delivery pipeline.
- Install the MoT UK’s Restfull Booker Platform. (Or a similar system we can test with)
We’ll aim for commonly used products and solutions that we might genuinely encounter at work. The MoT Akl has some funds that we can use, so we are not limited to free solutions, although there’s not a lot in the budget.
Anyone is welcome to come along, although people with experience with these kinds of products and technologies will be most helpful. But that said I’d love less experienced people to come too as long as you come prepared to roll up your sleeves, hit google hard for doing some online research.
Everyone bring your laptop! There are some power sockets if your battery doesn’t last that long, and the guest wifi has been pretty good at past events.
There are no slides for this event, we will be exploring solutions together and the event will hopefully generate documentation for future participants.
I’d like to create groups to pursue the three points, possibly even subdividing further to investigate and evaluate different solutions/products.
We will be charging the usual event fee of $5/pp (actually 2.50 GB pounds due to Meetup currency limitations) This will go towards any costs we incur with hosting/running the MoT Akl online presence.
The goal is to eventually be able to do instructor lead workshops and community driven club days where we develop Automation in Testing projects.
