Recent advances in technology, like AI/ML and CI/CD, has made the software testing automation easier, at the same time, have created anxieties in the mind of software testers such as, where their profession is headed, will the automation take up their jobs, whether their role will be reduced to just writing automation scripts, whether their jobs will be taken up by development engineers, etc.
In this talk, Venkat Ramakrishnan goes into the details of the latest technological advances, so that the software testers understand what these technological advances are, and how to better position themselves in the changing environment. He will also cover the latest automation technologies and see how they help the testers. The main part of the talk will be about what the qualities and attributes of a software tester are, and how to not lose sight of that in the jungle of latest technologies. The question 'Is automation everything?' will be dealt with!
