Jessica Bane: Scope Discovery and Alignment (talk & workshop)

Details

We're very excited to start in the July: Jessica Bane has kindly agreed to walk us through "Scope Discovery and Alignment" - a meeting format that helps a team to discover collaboratively what should and should not be done and why. She'll introduce us to the concept, and then there will be a chance to try the format hands on in small groups.

Drinks and Food kindly sponsored by Citrix!

Parking available at parking spaces assigned to Citrix, either outside (preferably), or in the top floor of the car park.

== Abstract: Scope Discovery and Alignment ==

Ever worked on something where you knew what should and should not be done and why?

Ever worked on something maybe a feature or project where you thought you knew what was meant to be done and then have surprises turn up which ‘you should have known about’?

Ever worked with a team where you thought everyone knew what they were and were not doing but as you work realise that that was not true?

If this sounds like something that has happened to you, you might benefit from Scope Discovery and Alignment (ScoDA).

ScoDA is a form of meeting that can help with:

  • Gathering information
  • Generating and answering questions
  • Understanding
  • What is and is not being done
  • Not only for the team but people outside of the team

Come along and find out how ScoDA could help you 😊

== Speaker: Jessica Bane ==

Currently working as a Senior Tester at DisplayLink based in Cambridge working in and with feature teams and other testers to help deliver quality products and features. I believe a huge part of working in Agile is communication so I strive to help others in this which is when ScoDA was created. I have been working as a Tester since leaving University where I did a degree in Digital Animation which I have found very useful in my current job as a tester with regards to my critical thinking and planning.

When I’m not at work I am at home with my cat and husband playing board or video games. When I am not doing that I’m in my craft room making something or out swimming as a mermaid.
