"How I used my testing skills to get to #TestBash Manchester"

I was lucky enough to speak at the first #TestBash Manchester last year. It was my first time visiting the city and instead of relying on a taxi or following a Sat Nav script I used other tools to get around.

So join me, as I share with you stories of I how got to my hotel and the #TestBash events around Manchester. With each story I will draw parallels to the different testing techniques I use.

In particular I will look at: Exploratory testing; the use of Oracles; getting to know a new system and Integration testing.

This will hopefully trigger a discussion and sharing of anecdotes afterwards over a beer or two comparing other real world experiences to different test approaches and techniques.

Bio:

Iain Bright has been testing for 15 years. He started in a UAT team in the financial sector before moving to Ireland. Since then he has worked on a variety of projects in different sectors both as a System and User Acceptance Tester and is currently the QA (short for Question&Answers) Lead at Renaissance Reinsurance in Dublin. Overtime, his approach to testing has evolved to be based on two fundamentals: problem solving and aiming to provide a high quality service to his customers. This allows him to be flexible, listen to his customers’ requirements and provide the best testing solution to the challenge at hand.
