Essentials Meetup Edinburgh - What is Testing?

The mentors have been busy getting ready in January and now it is time to bring in the mentees! We kick off our first proper session of Essentials 2020 with the fundamental question "What is testing?". Come chat, debate, and understand more about software testing this month.

By the end of the lesson the learner will be able to:

• List reasons why we do software testing
• Explore different definitions of software testing
• Critique misconceptions about software testing

After session activities for you to think about:

• Research different subjects, knowledge and skills that a tester requires
• Identify and explore the traits of a software tester
• Produce a personal definition of what software testing is

What is Essentials?

Essentials is an initiative from Ministry of Testing that was created to provide individuals with the opportunity to develop essential knowledge and skills in software testing. Delivered through community-led training using modern blended learning techniques to create the next generation of quality-focused teams.
