Essentials Meetup Midlands - Become a Mentor

Come join us at the Dunelm Head Office (Syston, Leicester) to get the very 1st session of Essentials underway (formerly known as Software Testing Clinic).

In this first session we will be focusing on building the core foundations for our events, which is our mentors!

We will discuss what it is like to be a mentor and work on some of the essential skills to practice for the remaining sessions in 2020.

Whether you've been a mentor for years or are just getting started, come along and join us in this session!

Learning outcomes:

• Describe what the Essentials meetup does
• Describe the different workshop styles we present
• Explain what their role is in the process of helping students in regular sessions
• Describe what mentoring is
• Describe what the role of a mentor is
• Display understanding of the perspective of the Mentee
• Execute different mentor techniques such as asking questions, building rapport and active listening

What is Essentials?

Essentials is an initiative from the Ministry of Testing that was created to provide individuals with the opportunity to develop essential knowledge and skills in software testing. Delivered through community-led training using modern blended learning techniques to create the next generation of quality-focused teams.
