At this meetup you can expect discussions and talks on a wide range of topics. Testing affects all aspects of Software Development so no subject is off topic. Chat Bot Security - Rise of Machine Learning Robin is a security specialist with experience in secure software development and penetration testing. An active member of the cyber security community, he invests some of his personal time to help run the OWASP Newcastle and (ISC)2 North East England chapters. His current focus is on building in security to cloud-hosted products and services via the implementation of a secure software development lifecycle. With the increasing adoption of chat bots by businesses, some familiar but also novel security threats have emerged. This session will provide an overview of chatbot evolution followed by an explanation of the types of threats and therefore security vulnerabilities chat bots can contain. The session will propose how we can adopt a suitable approach to performing security testing on chat bots. Game Changer - From Games to Software QA, Changing Mindsets and Culture Daniel Conway is Test Manager at Zerolight, bringing us a fascinating talk on changing the face of quality assurance, and the attitudes of the individuals and organization towards QA whilst touching on VR and Cloud testing. It's quite a unique transition for a company to go from games to software, and there is stark difference between as you know “games testers” and “software testers”. He will explore this while also talking about the unique challenges that testing VR and real time cloud solutions bring. Sponsors: We are pleased to be sponsored by Scott Logic, Zerolight and Sage. We would like to thank Zerolight for providing the venue, food and drinks this month. Without sponsorship putting on these events would simply not be possible.
