What we're about

The purpose of this group is to dance Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and Merengue early in the evening where same sex dancing is encouraged while welcoming all, regardless of dancing ability or sexual orientation. We want to generate joy and fun by creating an opportunity to dance to Latin music with open dancing starting at 7:30 PM. We will introduce new people to the dances by having two 30 minutes lessons each evening. Beginner lesson from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM and Intermediate from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

We welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community and our friends and allies to join this group. Any person interested in Latin music is encouraged to join regardless of your dancing ability.

We want to create a safe space for people to learn and to practice Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Cumbia where same sex dancing and non same sex dancing are encouraged. Learning to dance takes time but more importantly, it takes practice and the opportunity to dance to many songs, we want to be that group that gives people the opportunity to dance without the pressure of a nightclub. We also encourage experienced dancers to join us. Come and show off your moves, we would love to dance with you!

The Fraternal Order of the Eagles #34, located in the Seward neighborhood in Minneapolis, is a nice, not for profit charitable organization with plenty of parking space, a full bar and a kitchen that serves in the dance halls. You can have dinner before or during the dance. The dance floor is nice and the sound is excellent.
