What we're about

We want to provide opportunities for participants to have fun, socially interact, and get exposed to a variety of the newer boardgames in a safe, INCLUSIVE setting. Our "GameNight!" events are special because they will be centered on being for ALL types of gamers. This weekly event (and any of the many others that are organized) have become successful due to the weekly regularity, large core group of regulars, frequent new people drop-ins, diversity of the participants, and various popular locations that are rotated on a frequent basis. We welcome all levels of experience...so bring your family and friends.
There are now other alternatives to choose to go to, but when the group was started more than TEN years ago, there were few events to play boardgames at that weren't mostly guys with eurogames at a couple Minneapolis area gamestores. We mix it up a bit more, go to lots of nice places, play at all levels from newbie to hardcore, have an approximately equal mix of male, female (and others), all ages are represented, various ethnicities belong and are welcome, and we serve the entire Twin Cities area by preference.
Proud to still be having fun after so long, we hope you can make it to the next event... or sometime soon!

GameNight! gives a $20 gift card away FREE every week. --- You can be a Winner!

## Weekly GameNight! every Sunday at LynLake brewery....

GameNight! every Sunday in the Minneapolis Lyn-Lake area, at the LynLake Brewery, across the street from the Jungle Theatre.
The LynLake Brewery likes our group so much that they generously give me a $20 gift card FREE every week!

I encourage you to come frequently and play boardgames with us, by giving away that same $20 gift card to ONE of the first 20 people who join us that week and get themselves a numbered nametag to wear.
No purchase is necessary.
But you must be present to win,
....or how else would I give you the prize?
Typically I roll a 20-sided d20 die to choose the random winner,
then I yell out the winning number,
(we all cheer ....or boo!),
and someone get $20 worth of FREE beer and/or LynLake food.
Statistically, everyone is sorta getting a buck off their 1st beer or beverage,
(....over the long run, that is!)

(You may not see many RSVPs,
It's a multi-group event with many regulars, and this is only one of the places that this weekly event is announced, but we usually have from 20 to 30 people who show up each week on Sunday afternoon/evenings to play games together. We haven't had 40 people in awhile, but how cool would that be?)-
The LynLake Brewery is our weekly homebase.
They have many food choices, several craft beer and non-alcoholic options, and a well-lit RESERVED seating area up by the front door area, with lots of space for boardgamers.
(Come and tell me what you think of this choice. I have other options in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, several twin cities area breweries, and so on, but.... YOU need to like the location to make it a success!)

Our group will be spending every Sunday afternoon/evening at the LynLake Brewery playing boardgames, enjoying their food, excellent craft beers, and having FUN! Just like we've been doing for over TEN years....
Just remember that as guests of LynLake Brewery, we need to support this business that is nice enough to let us use their facilities for several hours every week. So buy some of the food, enjoy a adult beverage if you so desire, and don't forget to tip the staff! (they have to put up with you and all the rest of us nerds for hours EVERY week! )

Note for anyone considering first time attendance:
We welcome anyone bringing their own games, but don't at all feel obliged to. Our regulars all bring loads of games from simple to complex, so we'll have you covered. Our regulars also like playing all sorts of board games from simple to complex, so don't let any ideas about your skill level keep you away.

Community Fellowship and Board Games: First Fridays @ Five

Needs a location

Join us at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hope for both open casual and more advanced heavy board gaming. The first Friday evening of every month we are opening the doors to our church and community families, as well as to more established game groups/clubs. We have lots of table space available. Open gaming from 5PM - midnight. Most months a new game will be taught at 6:45 for people interested in learning about and playing new board games. Gaming doesn't have to be your endless family Monopoly marathon or Scrabble anymore; but if your family wants to come and play Monopoly you are more than welcome to do that too! On site vending machine available. We have a library of other family games that you and your kids can come to play.

For the teach games in June 2022, we will bring Five Tribes and Ticket to Ride (+variants) to the tables. Looking ahead to July and August, we will revisit the library of games taught this spring including: Power Grid, Acquire, Alhambra, Sagrada and these two June games. August will also likely move to the second Friday on the month, due to the GenCon scheduling conflicts for our local event coordinators.

Contact: Matt Hilliard (612)[masked])

House Rules: Feel free to bring your own snacks, food and drinks, but please no alcoholic beverages. Kids welcome, although we do not have baby sitters lined up, so your kids should generally plan to play at your table. Clean up after yourself and be respectful of fellow gamers. Have fun!
