Atheist Night with the Mr. Paul Aints - Leave Your Soles at the Gate

Minnesota Atheists (http://mnatheists.org/) and the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) (http://ffrf.org/) are sponsoring the 5th annual "Atheist Night" with the St Paul Saints minor league baseball team. Whether you get into baseball or not, it's a great evening of camaraderie, entertainment (the Saints are great on having mid-inning antics), and display of positive atheism to the general public.

As in previous years, we are renaming the team from the "St Paul Saints" to the secularized "Mr Paul Aints" for the evening. Our banners will hang throughout the stadium and the “S” in “Saints” signs will be covered. The team players will wear our custom jerseys for the evening which read "Aints" with the scarlet letter "A" for atheism. The player worn jerseys will be up for auction during the game so you have the chance to bring home one of these unique jerseys.

We are billing it as “Leave Your Soles at the Gate” once again due to the positive response we received from this shoe drive last year. Plus, the Saints have told us that when repeating a fundraiser like this, they often receive a greater number of donations since people know what to expect. Also, the recipient organization, Soles4Souls (http://soles4souls.org/our-mission), is enthusiastic to partner with us on this fundraiser once again. Soles4Souls is a secular 501c3 nonprofit “dedicated to fighting the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty.” Please consider bringing new or gently used shoes for donation to those in need.

Last year the stadium sold out so you will want to purchase your tickets ASAP!

You can order your tickets today at http://SaintsGroups.com (password: 2016atheists). It’s $21 for the Infield (“Infidel”) section and $11 in the General Admission section by left field. Don't forget to print your ticket.

Game time is 7pm but we’ll be partying by 3pm in the tailgate parking lot (https://twitter.com/PioneerPress/status/598938374049640449/photo/1) on Prince Street two blocks east of CHS Field, and six short blocks from the Union Depot station on the Green Line.
