Day of Reason Rally

Details

This year our Day of Reason event will feature “Secular Voices”. This will be an assembly of citizens from around the state who use their voice and actions to promote secularism in government and for many of us in our daily lives. Minnesota Atheists welcomes those who are religious but actively support our Secular Constitution, as this is a common bond for all American residents.

In the rotunda of the State Capitol, we will announce the impact made from the Secular Week of Action leading up to the Day of Reason. The Secular Week of Action is a call to secular communities across the country to put their secular values into action. Keep an eye out for the events Minnesota Atheists will be holding. A Week of Action is a positive response to aggressive religious intrusion into our common public life. Rather than simply saying “no” to prayer, we have a chance to say “yes” to positive action.

We encourage attendees to bring hand held signs for a group they represent or on separation of state and church. Signs must be positive in orientation and match our theme.

SCHEDULE TO DATE
Heather Hegi, Minnesota Atheists; Hertzey Hertz, Minnesota Atheists; Benjamin Blanchard, Minnesota Atheists; George Kane, Freethought Toastmasters; Audrey Kingstrom, Humanists of Minnesota; Mahad Muhammad, Black Freethinkers of Minnesota; and Jack Richter, Survivor of Conversion Therapy.

If you know a religious group who supports secular government and separation of government and religion, we also would like to know as they will be invited too. Please email Heather at sec@mnatheists.org
