Do you believe public policy should be guided by reason, evidence, and science? That lawmakers should maintain a secular government, without favoring one religion over another or the religious over the nonreligious? If so, please join us to commemorate the National Day of Reason on May 5.

Three humanist organizations are sponsoring a breakfast and reception that will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Vault Room in the State Capitol. You are invited to attend the entire time or to drop in when you can.

Guest speaker Sarah Levin, founder of the consulting firm Secular Strategies and an experienced grassroots organizer, will speak about "Building Political Clout in the Secular Community." She is also Chief Impact Officer of OnlySky Media, a new media outlet that "covers the human experience from a secular point of view."

We are inviting all legislators to attend and some have already said they plan to speak (see agenda below). Advocacy groups that support the Day of Reason principles will be tabling and speaking at the event. Confirmations so far include ACLU of Minnesota, Christians Against Christian Nationalism, Compassion & Choices Minnesota, and OutFront Minnesota.

A continental breakfast will be available throughout the morning (as long as food lasts).
