About us
Minnesota Atheists is Minnesota's oldest and largest atheist organization. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization that seeks to promote the positive contributions of atheism to society, provides a community for nonbelievers, educates the public about atheism, and promotes separation of state and church. We help make atheism part of mainstream society. We look forward to meeting you!
We are a member-supported organization. Everyone who works for Minnesota Atheists is a volunteer, but getting our word out does cost money. This site, our website, mailing newsletters, filming a cable TV show and participating in public events like festivals and parades all add up. We can do all of this thanks to you!

Day of Reason at the Capitol!
Minnesota State Capitol, 75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard., Saint Paul, MN, USRally for Secular Government on the National Day of Reason
Monday, May 4, 1:30-2:30 PM
Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda
75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, St Paul, MNMinnesota Atheists has been hosting a rally for the National Day of Reason at the Minnesota State Capitol nearly every year since 2005! Cohosts this year include Rochester Area Free Thinkers and HumanistsMN.
With Christian nationalist influence in Federal Government, it has never been so important to affirm our commitment to the constitutional wall of separation between religion and government, and to celebrate reason as the guiding principle of our secular democracy.
The program will include August Berkshire, Heather Hegi, and Grant Steves from Minnesota Atheists; David Breeden from Humanists MN; and Patrick Elliot from FFRF. We also expect legislators to stop by to address the crowd. We have had anywhere from two to seven State Representatives and State Senators speak at our event. Legislators that plan to speak this year include Rep. Mike Freiberg (43B), Rep. David Gottfried (40B), Rep. Andy Smith (25B), Rep. Athena Hollins (66B), and Rep. Cedrick Frazier (43A).
We can't control what the legislative schedule is going to be for the day which impacts their attendance, but we can control how we show up! Please, put this rally on your calendar, take a long lunch break, take the afternoon off, or make a day of it! Help us make a strong showing for this year's Day of Reason.
