Announcing a new Meetup for Minnesota Atheists Meetup Group!

What: Freethought Winter Solstice Celebration

When: Sunday, December 19,[masked]:00 PM

Where: DoubleTree Park Place Hotel
1500 Park Pl Blvd
Minneapolis, MN 55416

The 2010 Freethought Winter Solstice Celebration, hosted this year by Minnesota Atheists, is a chance for nonbelievers to share fellowship and good cheer with dinner, music, and entertainment.

The setting is the Doubletree Park Place Hotel in St. Louis Park (take the Park Place exit from Highway I-394, just west of Hwy 100), and this year you have the option of dining with your fellow freethinkers or simply enjoying the entertainment portion of the evening.

Dinner reservations are required, and the deadline to respond is December 14th. Cost is $45 per person, and you can sign up and pay online:

Cost for the entertainment portion only is $20 per person. Simply RSVP here and pay at the door.

The Freethought Band will serenade you throughout the evening and provide accompaniment for the evening's main event, the Freethought Follies, a theatrical and musical celebration of rational thinking written and produced by area atheists, Humanists and other freethinkers.

This year we are once again holding a gift drive for The Bridge for Youth, the Twin Cities' premier resource for youth and families in crisis. The Bridge for Youth ensures a continuum of care to provide shelter and support, to reunite families whenever possible, and when it is not, to build independent living skills in young people.

For a list of gift ideas, please visit:

The evening's agenda:
Social Hour: 5:00 P.M. (cash bar)
Dinner: 6:00 P.M.
Entertainment: 7:00 P.M.
