Azure App Gateway & Building LOB apps in Blazor

Details

Title 1:
Protect your web applications and web APIs with Azure Application Gateway and Web Application Firewall (WAF)

Description:
The right cloud architecture frees you to focus on your applications instead of your cloud infrastructure. Learn best practices on how to build your own multi-layer application protection strategy for your Azure resources using Azure’s cloud-native network and application security services. The focus of the talk will be on Azure Application Gateway (AppGW) and Web Application Firewall (WAF) to protect your web applications and APIs on Azure from common threats, exploits and volumetric attacks.

Azure AppGW is a web traffic load balancer that enables you to manage traffic to your web applications. It provides application delivery controller (ADC) as a service, offering various Layer 7 load-balancing capabilities allowing you to make routing decisions based on additional attributes of an HTTP request, such as URI path or host headers. Azure WAF filters, monitors, and blocks HTTP traffic to and from a web application.

Speaker Bio:
Arlan Nugara is a Cloud Solution Architect that speaks widely on Azure and DevOps. He has been awarded a MVP (Most Valuable Professional) in Azure for the past 3 years by Microsoft for his expertise and contributions to the technical community across the US and Canada. Arlan’s original background was in software development with a specialization in enterprise software development and architecture for financial institutions over the previous 20 years. Arlan’s focus over the past 2 years has been the building of Azure Virtual Datacenters where security is a key driving factor for a client’s migration to the Azure cloud. A critical part of this approach is the building of a landing zone as a configured environment with a standard set of secured cloud infrastructure, policies, best practices, guidelines, and centrally managed services.

Title 2:
Learn to Build your Web Apps with Blazor

Description:
Blazor is a framework to build interactive Web UIs using C# and HTML without writing a single line of JavaScript code.

Using .NET for client-side web development offers the following advantages:

  • Write code in C# instead of JavaScript.
  • Leverage the existing .NET ecosystem of .NET libraries.
  • Share app logic across server and client.
  • Benefit from .NET's performance, reliability, and security.
  • Stay productive with Visual Studio on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Build on a common set of languages, frameworks, and tools that are stable, feature-rich, and easy to use

In this session, you'll learn what Blazor is why you should use it.
