Learn Surface Mount Soldering - FPGA Board Progress - Popup Event

Details

Let's practice soldering on circuit boards. Adding electronics to circuit boards is usually done with through-hole components, or with surface mount components. Surface mount components, which only attach to one side of the board, tend to be smaller and harder to do by hand.

But fear not, for with a dash of Maker patience, you too can solder at home.

We will be using this technique:

The technique requires a hot air gun, and flux paste.

We will use this event to solder the FGPA prototype boards that we now have components for (first generation).

The event is at Matt's residence. We will also have our weekly talk this Friday.
