Xamarin at Viewpoint Construction Software with Heath Hodgert

Heath Hodgert is a Mobile Architect with Viewpoint Construction Software. He has been a .NET developer for over a decade working in a wide range of companies including Intel, WebMD and other local contract companies. He is professional mobile developer on the Xamarin platform for over 3 years,with several published apps on iOS, Android, and Windows. In his spare, time he is most likely training for a race around Portland or enjoying a craft beer at a local brewery.

Heath will discuss the the problem space of Viewpoint and how they arrived at the decision to build their mobile application using Xamarin. He will discuss the framework choices for building Xamarin apps like Xamarin.Forms, MvvmCross and Xamarin. He will build a simple app using C#, Xamarin and Xamarin.Froms to produce an app on three different platforms. If there is time he will talk about some of the other features of Viewpoint's infrastructure like continuous integration, Test Cloud and HockeyApp.

As usual, food and drinks will be provided. The doors will open at 6, and folks are encouraged to eat drink and network until the presentation starts at 6:30.
