What happened in mobile/wireless tech in 2015, and what does the future hold for all the industries where these technologies are being utilized?

As always, 2015 was an incredible year for mobile/wireless technologies and once again, Mobile Monday Detroit is presenting its annual 'Mobile/Wireless Year in Review'.

The format for this event is slightly different than our usual meeting, as our year-end wrap-up meetings are always structured to encourage broad audience participation. Mobile Monday Detroit organizers Glenn Everitt, Randy Nunez, Alana Asbury, and Linda Daichendt will review our Mobile Monday Detroit events of the past year, as well as highlighting key industry issues and innovations of 2015 while looking at what we can expect in 2016. Specific topics will be announced soon.

Randy Nunez is a Senior Network Engineer for Ford Motor Company where he leads the Mobile Computing workstream in researching emerging mobile trends and technologies, performing proofs of concept for technology prove-out, writing internal technical briefs, and delivering presentations to various audiences. He is a member of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) and an assistant organizer/planning committee member for Mobile Monday Detroit, serves on the advisory board for severeal mobile-related conferences, and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Mr. Nunez has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications Option).

Glenn Everitt is a Technical Consultant specializing in mobile technology and reporting to the CTO of Compuware. He works with Enterprise-level firms to develop their Mobile Strategic Direction, and has designed worldwide test infrastructure deployed for remote automated browser and SMS testing on mobile platforms, designed and built applications on multiple platforms, and deployed applications thru app stores around the world. He currently manages a team of develpers building apps with downloads in the tens of thousands, and focuses on efficiently building and deploying applications utilizing mobile platforms to their fullest. Glenn is a member of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) and a co-organizer of Mobile Monday Detroit.

Alana Asbury currently serves as a Business Analyst for Spud Software, Inc., a custom software development company located in Grand Blanc, MI. She works with businesses ranging from startups to Fortune 500 firms to increase their efficiency by implementing software solutions and identifying integration points, while adhering to budget limitations. Alana has been a part of the Spud Software family for 2.5 years, and enjoys watching businesses become revolutionized by the implementation of fully customized software. Previous work at WDIV as an assignment editor led Alana to her interest in mobile technologies due to her increased awareness of the ways News was being consumed on mobile devices and other digital platforms. Outside of her work in technology, Alana loves languages. She lived in France for 5 years, and attended La Sorbonne in Paris for a year and a half, enabling her to become fluent in French. Alana also learned Spanish while doing 9 months of volunteer service with Hispanic immigrants in Montreal, Quebec. Alana is drawn to technology because there is no limit on innovation. It’s quick-paced, always evolving and most of all, fun. She capitalizes on her love of technology by her participation as a member of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan and its Women in Mobile Tech Advisory Council, and as an organizer for Mobile Monday Detroit.

Linda Daichendt is the Executive Director of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM), a Co-founder of Mobile Monday Michigan, Executive Producer of the Michigan mobile/wireless tech podcast 'Michigan Mobile Musings', a Co-host of the 'This Week in Small Business Technology' podcast series on Michigan Business Network, and a previous Co-host/Co-producer of the international mobile marketing podcast series, 'The Mobile Marketing Review'. She is also a Board Member for the Michigan STEM Partnership. Linda is one of Michigan's leading proponents of the use of mobile/wireless technologies for businesses of all sizes - and in all industries. She is a recognized business expert with 20+ years of corporate, small business and franchising experience, and her daily focus is on educating Michigan business, government and education stakeholders about the opportunities that mobile/wireless technologies provide to substantially grow Michigan's economy, as well as insuring the ability for all Michigan residents to benefit from the jobs and businesses created by those technologies.
