Firefox OS, a startup opportunity. (Joint event with HTML5 Toronto)

Kicking off the year 2014, we are excited to team up with HTML5 Toronto (https://www.meetup.com/HTML5-Web-App-Developers/) to introduce Firefox OS, a startup opportunity!

In this talk, Frédéric Harper, Senior Technical Evangelist at Mozilla, will show you how you can use HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to build amazing mobile applications as to brush up what you previously published. Learn about the open web technologies, including WebAPIs, and Web Activities, which enhance the developers’ toolbox. Let’s not forget the tools designed to get you started developing HTML apps for Firefox OS, and the web.

Firefox OS (also referred to by its codename "Boot to Gecko" or "B2G") is Mozilla's open source mobile operating system based on Linux and Mozilla's Gecko technology. For Web developers, the most important part to understand is that the entire user interface is a Web app, one that is capable of displaying and launching other Web apps. Any modifications you make to the user interface and any applications you create to run on Firefox OS are Web pages, albeit with enhanced access to the mobile device's hardware and services.
