Join Mobile Twin Cities for two presentations at our next meeting on July 10th, 2018.
Building "Actions" for the Google Assistant with Actions on Google and Dialogflow.
Actions on Google lets you extend the functionality of the Google Assistant with actions. Actions let users get things done through a conversational interface that can range from a quick command to turn on some lights or a longer conversation, such as playing a trivia game. Paul shares his work building these actions as well the use of Dialogflow
Paul is a Senior Software Engineer at BuzzFeed, currently working on their Android team. He has been developing on the platform for 5+ years and previously worked as a freelance developer. He also has an extensive background in music. For nearly a decade, Paul ran his own music production studio and has received awards and nominations for his work as a producer and audio engineer.
How I spent My Time at WWDC
Josh Walker will give a quick recap of all the latest announcements from Apple from their annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). Including new apps and user features, and what new frameworks and API’s developers are excited to start using. In addition, he’ll provide some insight about what it is like to be there in San Jose with all the happenings.
Josh is a Sr Mobile Engineer at BuzzFeed with over 8 years experience in iOS development and 20 years software development experience. He is passionate about technology, soccer and travel when he can find the time.
