Riley Gerszewski is a user experience designer with a current focus on mobile health. His recent work includes designing a home health care app for PointClickCare and co-founding Wellb.care (https://www.wellb.care/), a mobile app that drives patient and care team engagement. He previously worked at Honeywell where he designed mobile apps to support connected home devices.

Kotlin: Android's New Old Programming Language with Steve Peterson

Kotlin is the "new" (meaning 5 years old) programming language alternative for Android Development. It was developed by JetBrains (the maker of IDEs for Android and other platforms), and as of 2017, embraced and approved by Google. This presentation will show numerous code examples and include tips on how to get started for your project.

Steve continues to lead teams and developed many apps at BuzzFeed. His portfolio ranges from Instant Apps, the BuzzFeed video app, designing ICs, writing Wall Street trading algorithms, to Operations Manager for a V/C backed medical device start-up. 6+ years ago, Steve picked Android (or did Android pick him?).

Food and beverages will be served at 6:00pm. Presentations begin at 6:30pm.
