RubyMotion - A New Approach to Building Native iOS Applications

Details
This meeting will be a joint meeting with the members of RubyMKE as the topic covers both Ruby and Mobile. Can't wait to see you all.
Topic
RubyMotion[1] is a relatively new way to build native iOS applications. But how does it work? Does it really produce native applications or are you adding overhead? Does this approach limit your access to the official SDKs? More importantly, WHY would you want to consider this alternate toolkit instead of just using Xcode and Objective C?
This talk will answer all those questions and give you a good overview of the exciting community springing up around RubyMotion. Whether you're an Objective C curious about what else is out there or you're a Rubyist refusing to learn Objective C but wanting to publish native apps, this talk will be of interest to you. Also, since RubyMotion is a commercial product with no demo, this will be a great opportunity to check it out without laying out any hard-earned cash.
About The Presenter
Joel Clermont is primarily a PHP and C# developer, but has recently begun a tawdry love affair with Ruby. He is currently an organizer of the Milwaukee PHP User Group and also helps organize the MobileMKE group.
