What we're about

We are a group of black women who love to read, want to read more and meet like-minded women. We are here to inspire women to read, share literature, fellowship, and encourage others in the joy of reading. We meet at Antigone Books bookstore location (411 N. 4th Ave. Tucson, AZ. 85705). We are an eclectic group of women and so are our reading selections. Find out more at our website http://mochagirlsread.com

Island Indulgence: Cooking with Joy - A Traditional Trinidad & Tobago Breakfast

Joy Dillon hails from Trinidad and Tobago, a twin-island nation in the southern Caribbean with cuisine as diverse and celebrated as its people. She enjoys dabbling regularly in the kitchen as a form of therapy, and also as a means of creative expression. In this month’s session of “Island Indulgence”, come join her as she shares her knowledge and insight into
preparing some basic, popular Caribbean breakfast recipes with you!

In this cooking demonstration, you will learn how to prepare:
- Coconut Bake
- Saltfish Bhuljol
- Cornmeal Porridge
- Fried Plantain

What you will need to bring with you:
- Paper and pen or the best method of taking notes for you.
- You do not need to come prepared with ingredients. Joy will carefully talk through and display a list of ingredients while demonstrating how to prepare each breakfast dish.

The PowerPoint presentation will be provided by request via email. Send all presentation requests to [masked]
