RIPTA (http://www.ripta.com/) recently released their Open Data Transit API and Hack(RI) (http://hackri.com/), in partnership with Governor Raimondo's CS4RI (http://www.cs4ri.org/) initiative, is challenging YOU to come up with revolutionary applications using RIPTA's data!
To get the ball rolling, Hack(RI), the official hackathon for the state of Rhode Island, is hosting a series of Meetups where hackers of all levels can work on their projects and listen to short talks by members of the RI Tech community!
Join us at MojoTech on Wednesday, November 16th to hack and hear from Mojos Tim Barmann and Omid Bachari who have been working on separate back-end projects that build upon the RIPTA API. Their goal is to provide additional API endpoints that would make front-end development easier. Tim is working in Node JS and Omid is working in Elixir. They will share their work.
Pizza, refreshments, and plenty of work space. More info about Hack(RI) and future Meetups here (http://hackri.com/).
Additionally, we will be sharing information about how to register as a Pro League competitor! Hack(RI) is for every skill level, but to make the competition fair and shine a spotlight on Rhode Island tech companies, tech professionals and advanced programmers are asked to register as a Pro Team. Pro Teams will go head to head to be judged against the best RI tech teams in the state -- all in the spirit of friendly competition!
