Moms Helping Moms is a peer-lead support group to help all women experiencing reproductive trauma. We each have a different “reproductive story” and when our story doesn't go as planned due to complications, loss or unexpected thoughts and/or feelings, we experience a type of trauma. Moms Helping Moms is here to support you through your trauma, whether you're facing reproductive challenges like infertility, miscarriage, high-risk pregnancy or delivery, pregnancy loss, SIDS, postpartum depression/anxiety or prenatal depression. Through my own journey, I have met many women who have experience profound distress. These women describe feelings of loneliness, confusion, anxiety, anger, isolation, sadness, and even guilt and shame! We feel that pregnancy and motherhood should be this magical, happy experience and when it isn't we feel guilty or shameful. Then, due to stigma and a lack of understanding around reproductive trauma we have nowhere to turn and many women suffer in silence. For these reasons, women often need help and support on a physical, emotional and relational level and this group strives to offer this (and more!) in a safe, supportive and judgement-free environment. Come share your story, connect with others and learn tips, coping techniques, and tools for managing your trauma.
