Monkeys with Typewriters is an extreme writing group bent on hammering out our novels (or whatever projects we're working on) and having fun too. If infinite monkeys can create a masterpiece, so can we.
We're not just writers -- any creative endeavor you're working on is appropriate for Monkeys. During regular meetups, you can write, draw, blog, design, code, or work on whatever other project you're up to. (Probably no singing and dancing though -- we're kind of quiet.)
Our goal is to provide a few hours to work on your creative projects in a supporting environment. We meet pretty much every Wednesday. A typical meeting is relatively unstructured: We meet in a space with tables, chairs and free wifi to work on our projects. Thirty minutes into our meeting, we go around the table to introduce ourselves and discuss our individual goals and the progress we've made since the last meetup. Then, we work independently on our projects for the rest of our time, quietly working and sometimes chatting about our projects.

WRITING CHALLENGES -- We usually moderate a couple of "write sprints" during our meetups, where members can (optionally) compete to write the most words within 10 minutes! We also have lots of members who participate in rad stuff like National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), Camp NaNoWriMo, Script Frenzy, National Blog Posting Month, and Inktober.
