Coffee and Code (and Chat) - Missoula

Details
Hello all! Enjoy the teamwork and sharing of a community but want to learn coding? That elusive yet challenging skill now embedded in the very fabric of our culture? Bring your laptop and stay awhile.
The goal is modest. To provide a place to gather and support for those who desire to further their skills, learn anew what may be lost, or begin down a disparate path that may inspire.
Our current group meets for 2-3 hours and works on separate projects or chats about coding problems and how to understanding them. It’s pretty relaxed and open to anyone that would like to try out paths or suggests possible options.
There has been a general ask recently for a slightly more organized approach, to this end we’ll have some coding challenges to work on and solve as a group for those that like that sort of thing.
Some things you might like to do before you come in:
Start with freeCodeCamp, they have a great starter pack on frontend. They also have a well-established community of devs and learners for people interested in development and open-source.
For the slightly more adventurous you can setup git on your machine and start up your own project. Don’t worry if you get stuck you can stop by some time and get support.
There is also a Missoula Tech Slack channel:
If you already have some skills and you’d like to apply them to a project there are several projects in the works on our repo, and openings for as many more as you would like to get started on.
Stop on by, have a coffee and check out some codes. Work on a projects, share some ideas, enjoy some happy times. Let your voice be heard.
