Home to hundreds of species of birds and marine life, the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Reserve is the remainder of an ancient river valley. The main channel winds seven miles inland, feeding 2,500 acres of rich marsh and tidal flats. Pelicans, herons and egrets, as well as countless fish, sharks, crabs, sea lions and otters call the slough home. A visitors center offers interpretive displays. Miles of well-maintained trails make this a favorite for hikers. To walk the trails there is a $4.12 day-use fee for adults 16 and older. Children under 16 are free. They only accept credit cards for entry fee, NO CASH. https://www.elkhornslough.org/esnerr/visitor-information/ As usual, we will meet at the Twin Lakes Church parking lot at 10 am and carpool from there. Join me and other Christian women from different churches for a two-day women’s gathering with powerful teaching simulcast from Dallas, TX by Jennie Allen. This is a generation that is not just hungry for big faith, but for a big faith that is lived out in the practical, mundane things we do and the decisions that we make everyday. What does it look like to follow God and live out this faith in our relationships, at our jobs, in conflict, in suffering, with money? Faith can move mountains, but it can also change our everyday circumstances, so we are going to look at God’s word to do that in one of the most practical, yet misunderstood, books of the Bible - Proverbs. Proverbs doesn’t show us a set of rules, but a different way to live that is so attractive, so fragrant, flowing through our lives, actions, relationships, and work, and drawing people to Christ. Together, we are going to discover what it looks like to do these things, not perfectly, but in good faith, trying our best to obey God and His way of life. Friday, February 8th | 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM & Saturday, February 9th | 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM Shoreline Church, Parkside Room Registration is Free!
