Looking for a fun, competitive Friday night—without the bar scene?
Join us for structured backgammon in a welcoming, social setting.
Designed for experienced players, our tournaments feature strong competition, serious play, and a friendly community that appreciates the game at a high level.

⏰ Schedule

• Arrive between 5:00–5:25 PM
• Tournament starts promptly at 5:30 PM

Come early to grab a bite, meet fellow players, and warm up.

📍 Location
We play at the rear of the mezzanine-level Bonap food court inside
Alexis Nihon Complex
✔ Directly connected to Atwater metro
✔ Indoor parking available ($8 after 5 PM)
✔ Wide selection of food and drinks on-site
👉 Look for backgammon boards and yellow baseball caps.

🎯 Tournament Format
We play modern backgammon using the doubling cube, following standard tournament rules.

• Single-elimination
• 5-point matches
• 7-point final
• Master Points awarded 🏆

Whenever possible, the final is recorded and analyzed using eXtreme Gammon, then shared so players can review and improve.

📸 Photography & Final Match Recording
Photography is a regular part of our live tournaments. We photograph the event and participants to document our club activities, share tournament recaps, showcase the community, and promote backgammon in Montreal. Photos may be published on our Meetup page, Facebook, and other club social-media channels.
The tournament final is also recorded from an overhead view of the backgammon board for analysis and educational purposes. Players are not shown in the recording, but their voices are recorded. Final-match recordings will be analyzed using eXtreme Gammon and shared on our YouTube channel.
By attending and participating in our live tournament, you acknowledge that photography is part of the event and that photographs may be published through our club's online channels.

• Arrivée entre 17 h et 17 h 25
• Le tournoi commence à 17 h 30 précises

Arrivez tôt pour manger un morceau, rencontrer les autres joueurs et vous échauffer.

📍 Lieu
Nous jouons à l’arrière de l’aire de restauration Bonap, au niveau de la mezzanine, à l’intérieur du Complexe Alexis Nihon.
✔ Directement relié au métro Atwater
✔ Stationnement intérieur disponible (8 $ après 17 h)
✔ Grand choix de restaurants et de boissons sur place
👉 Repérez les plateaux de backgammon et les casquettes de baseball jaunes.

🎯 Format du tournoi
Nous jouons au backgammon moderne avec le cube, selon les règles habituelles des tournois.

• Élimination simple
• Matchs de 5 points
• Finale de 7 points
• Points Maîtres attribués 🏆

Dans la mesure du possible, la finale est enregistrée et analysée avec eXtreme Gammon, puis partagée afin que les joueurs puissent revoir le match et améliorer leur jeu.

📸 Photos et enregistrement de la finale
La photographie fait régulièrement partie de nos tournois en personne. Nous prenons des photos de l’événement et des participants afin de documenter nos activités, de partager des comptes rendus des tournois, de mettre notre communauté en valeur et de faire connaître le backgammon à Montréal. Les photos peuvent être publiées sur notre page Meetup, Facebook et d’autres réseaux sociaux du club.
La finale est également enregistrée en plongée, avec une vue du plateau de backgammon, à des fins d’analyse et d’apprentissage. Les joueurs ne sont pas visibles dans l’enregistrement, mais leurs voix sont enregistrées. Les enregistrements des finales seront analysés avec eXtreme Gammon et partagés sur notre chaîne YouTube.
En participant à notre tournoi en personne, vous reconnaissez que la photographie fait partie de l’événement et que des photos peuvent être publiées sur les plateformes en ligne du club.
