The purpose of this meetup is to gather and try to teach and learn some new topic or subject. Possible subjects are:
- What is randomness?

The Global Financial Crisis and Lessons for Today

BAnQ Grande Bibliothèque

Continuing with our finance theme, the subprime mortgages triggered the world's largest financial crisis in years. We will discuss what triggered the crisis, the various financial instruments that were created before the crisis and how they were used. What is securitization? What are derivatives? And finally some prospects on whether we are on the cusp of another crisis.
