Spring has sprung! Come hike and photograph Cap Saint Jacques Nature Park.

Details

Spring is in full swing. There has been an explosion in life: Flowers are blooming, tree canopies are sprouting and the days are long and warm! Lets go out, enjoy the outdoors and photograph some beautiful spring scenery at Cap-Saint-Jacques Nature Park (Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques), the largest park in the city of Montreal park system.

The idea is to photograph the area in warm afternoon light, up to sunset. The hike and photography will take place from 5:30 pm to sunset (around 8:30 pm). Don't forget that the light will be good for photography from around 6:30 pm onwards. The extra hour from 5:30 pm is to give us the chance to explore more of the park before we start photographing seriously There is plenty of shoreline so more than enough opportunity for those of you who want to photograph the late afternoon sun over calm waters. I have been very impressed by the creativity and skill of the group at our first outing and I am sure you all will make the most out of whatever subjects you decide to photograph. I will be very happy to give some tips and assistance to anyone who asks.

WE MEET at LA FERME ÉCOLOGIQUE, NOT THE VISITOR's CENTRE. The FERME ÉCOLOGIQUE is in the top left corner of the park. You can find the FERME ÉCOLOGIQUE on this map: http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/pls/portal/docs/page/parcs_fr/media/documents/Carte_ete_Capstjacques.pdf

We have the option of socializing over some food and/or drinks after the hike/photography. I suggest we go to Madison's Bar and Grill, ( http://www.madisonsnyc.com/ ), at 3000 Jean Yves, Kirkland, about a 10 minute drive from the park. I will announce this again on Sunday and we will see how many want to go.

Please note that there is a $ 9 parking fee for stays longer than 2 hours.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Kind regards,

Christoph
