Details
Hey MUUGs!
The Montreal Unity User Group is back up and running and we are going to be hosting on next event on August 16 at Unity’s Office in old port. The topic for this event will be called
Creating the Usable, Creating Tools that People will Actually Use
Unity is a great tool that can be extended to help you save time on your projects. Allowing you to extend and add new features directly to the editor. Often times tools are quickly built but are slow to adopted by the team. The goal is to create dead simple tools that require the least of amount of teaching to use and avoid user mistakes. We will cover a few editor topics like how to style your editors to look and feel like native Unity, have operations run automatically by hooking into Unity callbacks, and utilities and resources you can use to help jump start creating your own tools. All example used during this talk will be posted publicly after the event.
Byron Mayne has been developing with Unity for five years working for companies such as Magmic, Budge Studios, Owlchemy Labs, and currently Playtika. Outside of work he is the new organizer of the Montreal Unity User Group, OJAM (Ottawa Game Jam) and previously the Ottawa Unity User Group.
