Upcoming events (1)
Walkie Talkies, Verena will be leading this walk. I believe it is a first time for these particular trails for the group.
We will start at the Black Canyon Visitors Center and for a short distance hike to Oak Flat Loop intersection, connecting with the Uplands Trail. Deer, Elk and wild turkeys may be seen and hopefully some vivid fall colors of scrub oak trees. Just over 1 mile the Uplands Trail meets the Rim Rock Trail and ends at Visitors Cir.
There are some spectacular views of the Black Canyon along the trail.
Total Distance 2.5 to 3 miles.
Hiking shoes, poles, water, suntan lotion are recommended.
Dress for 8,000ft. altitude.
Park Pass is required. Some of us will have a National Park Pass and we will encourage people to car pool to avoid a fee.
The Visitor Center will be open. There is a restroom and water station.
This is will be a new meet-up/ carpool location for us at the public parking lot at Cascade and N. 2nd St.. It is just 2 blocks north of Main St. on Cascade.
FYI you can purchase a LIFETIME National Parks pass for $80.
Please wear your face mask while in the car.
