What we're about

Ladies - If you like to walk, talk and meet new people, then this group is for you. We meet at a designated area, in Montrose. Our walks are a mix of Saturdays and weekday mornings. Our walks are generally 2-4 miles. Every now and then the walk maybe shorter or a bit longer. We venture out and about Montrose and hike on one of the many hiking trails that surround us. During the summer months, we are walking 3-4 each month. As the weather cools, we walk, hopefully, twice a month. Starting January 2021, we hope to add snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing.

Beginning January 2021, there will be annual dues of $10. Please help us by paying on your first activity with us. Thank you.

Effective Oct 3,2021 we are implementing basic Covid-19 precautions:

Montrose County has reported a 46% Covid vaccination rate. Last week, the County had 23 new Covid infections every day. Each of those infected 1 other person. In Montrose County, our risk level for contracting Covid-19 is "very high". (Oct 2,2021 Covid Act Now).

We want to be safe. We want to continue being healthy as well as our family members. We want to continue walking outdoors. We want to continue meeting others.

To that end, we,the Walkie- Talkie group, will be instituting Covid precautions effective immediately.

- All unvaccinated (to Covid) members will carpool amongst themselves. Our meet-ups will remain the same, but it will be more of a caravan to the trailhead.

- Everyone else will be asked to wear a face mask while in a car.

- We are not asking for a show of vaccination cards. It is not uncommon within the Meetup groups that cards need to be shown. We prefer not to to that.We trust you will be honest.

- We do want all of you to feel welcome to hike with us. However, if you feel you cannot abide by the above and have paid your annual dues, those dues will be refunded to you.

- Please do not hike if you do not feel well. If anyone becomes Covid Positive within a few days of the hike, please let me know so I can contact the other hikers. I will not divulge your identity to members of the group.

Thank you for your understanding.
