The New Privacy Laws & Cyber Insurance when it comes to startups!

Question: How many startups have insurance? I'm not talking about buildings or contents insurance, but more product & professional indemnity insurance! I asked this question a few weeks ago to around 10 and the answer was.....zero. Added to this in February the Government introduced the Notifiable Data Breaches Bill to strengthen the protection of privacy and personal information, enforcing organisations to notify when their data is breached. With fines now being up to $1,800,000, one of the main ways to protect your business from these penalties is through Cyber Insurance.
