About us
Moshannon Group is one of the 10 Pennsylvania Sierra Club groups. It serves 11 counties, including: Bedford, Blair, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Elk, Huntingdon, Jefferson, Juniata, McKean, and Mifflin counties. The Sierra Club is a dedicated grassroots environmental organization, inspired by and pursuing John Muir’s goals: To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the Earth; To practice and promote the responsible use of the Earth’s ecosystems and resources; To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment. In addition, Moshannon Group is dedicated to activism and education on the critical issues of fracking and global warming/climate change. Membership in Sierra Club is not required to join this meet-up but it is encouraged.

PSU Sustainability Showcase: Britt Wray
Sparks Building, 40.79708667980887, -77.86581441855134, STATE COLLEGE, PA, USBritt Wray, Director of CIRCLE at Stanford Psychiatry, is an award-winning author of Generation Dread: Finding Purpose in an Age of Climate Anxiety and Rise of the Necrofauna: The Science, Ethics, and Risks of De-Extinction. Wray researches how we can manage feelings of climate anxiety and avoid the adverse effects it has on mental health, along with finding solutions for helping those who have had their mental health affected. She will be visiting Penn State on October 12 and 13, 2026 for a keynote, Climate Conversation Cafe talk, and conversations with students. The keynote talk will take place on Tuesday, October 13, in Sparks 121 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. (EDT).
