Irish Holiday Cheer @ Brian Ború
Brian Boru is practically an institution in Portland. Established in 1993, it has been serving up delicious drinks and tasty food as other bars in town have come into being and faded away. Named after an ancient king of Ireland it thoroughly celebrates it’s Irish heritage, but don’t peg it solely as an Irish pub. It’s such a popular weekend spot that many looking for a less crowded atmosphere may avoid the place but it would be a shame to miss out on Boru entirely. Which is why happy hour is the perfect time to check it out! I have heard this place can be fun. They have a wide selection of local beers (and also Harp, Guinness, etc) Look for me downstairs at a picnic table. I will be drinking a beer (yes, really) and wearing a green tam o'shanter. Friends are always welcome and as usual arrive happy and get home safe. See you Friday.

What we're about

Welcome to Mostly Maine - Craft Beer Junkies.

I am new to the Portland area and wish to join (start) a meetup for people who love craft beer as much as I do. I have spent the last 8 years in the SF Bay area where I personally hosted over 100 Meetups for Happy Hours, Music events, parties, biking and hiking events. I also became well entrenched in the California & West Coast craft beer culture as well as traveling coast to coast visiting some of the best breweries and taprooms in the country.
I am starting a group to explore the great craft beer culture in the Portland area. There are an incredible number of great breweries, taprooms and pubs here to explore. I will rely on members of this group to point me in the right direction as well as host future events. Meetups go year around. I intend to post several meetups a month with rotating venues.
This group is totally inclusive and tolerant regardless of AGE, sex, ethnicity or political leanings. Our focus will be on socializing around beer, food and the culture. Please join us.

These are some simple guidelines to keep this fun and fair for all.
Although this group is focused about exploring the Portland area for craft brews, breweries and taprooms it is also about making friends, having fun and meeting new people. Here are some basic guidelines.
1) This is a social group, not a singles group. Please keep that in mind at all events and keep it friendly. Social events are a great way to meet new people and develop new relationships. Please feel free to bring friends, spouses and partners to all events as long as they are included in you RSVP.
2) Please keep all conversations and interactions friendly. This means we would prefer to keep politics out of the conversations as they do not mix well with alcohol. Sports talk is encouraged and some events will revolve around some sporting events. Again, please keep it civil.
3) Since most events involve alcohol, please drink responsibly. Please use public transportation, Lyft/Uber or designated drivers. The organizer(s) take(s) no responsibility for your behavior and are not liable for any repercussions or legal issues resulting from such behavior.
4) Please post a photo of yourself. We like your dog/cat/horse/lobster but we request you post a photo of yourself so that we can identify you at event. Besides, most animals are too young to drink beer.
5) Feel free to post take and post photos at events. Please be civil and do not post inappropriate or explicit photos on our site or any other social media site.
6) "Bad" behavior will not be tolerated. You are all adults and should know what 'Bad behavior' is.
