What we’re about

We are a supportive community of women whose mothers have died. Our community formed in the spring of 2010 and has offered an important outlet for women who are feeling isolated when they have lost their mother. We are a diverse community and through our supportive gatherings we discover so much about how we are not alone in our experiences of navigating life without our moms.
When a daughter loses her mother, she joins an unexpected, undesired "club." The emotions and situations we face can create feelings of isolation as we navigate our journey without the person who is supposed to be our compass. To soothe this isolation and other challenges we face on this journey, we get together and share our stories. Through this group, you may also find lasting friendships and support. Many women have reported that attending a supportive gathering with this group offered them a great deal of comfort, lifting of a "weight" from their body, and feelings of uplift and positivity to meet other women who are experiencing so much of the same. Even still, we learn about each other's diversity in backgrounds and experiences and this becomes yet another area where we connect.
This group is for any Bay Area motherless daughter needing the support and willing to meet up in the East Bay region.
We now have an email list outside of meetup to enhance communication among our members. Please message the organizer for further details about how to join our list so that you're aware of opportunities to meet with us. We are a community and so there is no fee to be in this group, on the email list, etc.
